Jamshedpur, Ot 20: The Jharkhand Bengali Committee’s Jamshedpur branch hosted its Vijaya Sammelan at the Bhalubasa Joda Mandir Auditorium, celebrating the festival of Vijaya Dashami. The event, conducted by Tapan Kumar Sen Sharma, featured a warm welcome song, “Ekhon Aar Deri Noy,” performed by Aditi Sengupta, Deepa Banerjee, Devyani Dutt, Monalisa Dey, and Madhumita Kundu.

Branch President Bhavesh Chandra Dev opened the program with a welcome speech, emphasizing the significance of the occasion. Committee patron Shekhar Dey, in his address, stated, “Vijaya Dashami symbolizes the victory of truth over untruth. We must prioritize and respect women’s power in our society.” His remarks underscored the need for honoring women’s contributions and influence.

The event also featured poetry recitations by Rama Mukherjee, Suparna Sen Sharma, Nisar Sarfuddin, and Chandana Chatterjee, while writer Shyamal Seal delivered a speech on the significance of the Sammelan. Additionally, Ashish Gupta recited a poem, and a solo music performance was showcased by Aarti Sen, Shamita Rakshit, Anita Chakraborty, and Aditi Sengupta. Children from the primary section of Sakchi High School delighted the audience with a dance performance.

The gathering concluded with a vote of thanks from the branch’s Vice President, Swapan Dasgupta, who expressed gratitude to all participants and attendees for their involvement in the celebration.
