Gamharia, March 9: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a ceremony for honouring women was organized by Kushwaha Sangh of Seraikela-Kharsawan at Shahnai Bhawan in Chhota Gamharia.
Prof Ravi Shankar Kumar, the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. Prof Ravi Shankar emphasized on the development of women. He said that the development of society wass possible only through awareness among women. “Women today are performing gloriously in every sphetre of activity but to ensure more women participation in developmental activities by making them aware of happenings, events and development programmes would ensure higher development of society and the nation.”
Shivbalak Maurya, District President of Kushwaha Sangh presided over the program.
Umesh Kumar Nirmal, a senior member of the organization anchored the events. The welcome address was presented by Bhupendra Singh while the vote of thanks was offered by Vinod Kumar. Women honoured at the event for their meritorious social activities included Usha Kumari, Sheetal Chhaya Devi, Naina Devi, Sharmila Devi, Ramila Devi and others. The function was also addressed by BK Singh, RN Mahato, VP Singh, Jagjivan Mahto and others.
Many dignitaries including Baidnath Singh, Virendra Prasad, Shashi Ranjan Kumar were present.
