Jamshedpur: The women of Kovali village in Potka block have demanded ban on sale of liquor in the area.
They met the deputy commissioner and senior superintendent of police on Monday and demanded administrative action against liquor mafia members of the block.
They handed over a memorandum to the DC, Dr Amitabh Kaushal, and SSP, Amol Venukant Homkar, and demanded arresting of the culprits.
They said liquor mafia members often abused local women and harassed them under influence of liquor. Women felt unsafe due to tipplers in the said block, they said.
