Noamundi: A woman and her two sons were brutally murdered by her neighbours and her husband Budh Ram Purty was wounded seriously with sharp weapons late yesterday night for the sake of few rupees in Mugadighiya village of Noamundi police station area. The deceased were identified as Nandi Purty (25), Pandu Purty (8) and Sudarshan Purty (6).
The incident took place around midnight when the victims were fast asleep in the house with the doors open due to hot weather. The assailants attacked Budh Ram Purty and wounded him badly. Purty started bleeding profusely and fell on the ground. Taking him to be dead, the culprits left him on the floor. Thereafter they stoned the kids and their mother ruthlessly and killed them at the scene.
When Purty came came to his senses, he went to his young brother�s house in the same village and told him about the incident. Soon police was informed about the incident.
Cops took the bodies into their custody and sent them for postmortem examination to Sadar Hospital, Chaibasa. Purty was admitted to Tisco Hospital Noamundi. He earlier worked in a canteen in Noamundi market. His neighbours had reportedly demanded money from him.
Speaking to cops, Purty said, �I do not have enmity with anyone in the village. The murderers might have done it for money.�
On the statement of Purty, an FIR was registered against the alleged murderers, identified as Tuna Purti, Langru Purty and Rabi Purty. A police team led by DSP Kiriburu Rajat Mani Bakhala is conducting raids to nab the killers.
