Woman gives birth to quadruplets in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Sometimes the blessings of elders like, �Grow and progress� yields results. Often, such events are dubbed miracles. But what happened to Dodo couple Parmeshwar and Sodra Mahto was nothing short of a miracle. Sodra gave birth to quadruplets, two sons and two daughters at the Magadh Samrat Hospital in Adityapur. The four new borns and the mother are doing well as the Hospital authorities reported.

According to information, Dodo village is in Kharsawan Block. Parmeshwar Mahto is a poor farmer barely able to eke out enough for his family. On Sunday night at around 10 Sodra started having labour pains. Early morning on Monday, Parmeshwar and his relatives took her to a private nursing home in Kharsawan but finding it closed due to the pandemic they rushed her to the Magadh Samrat hospital in Adityapur. Sodra delivered the first child at the hospital�s gate. Showing alacrity, the hospital management picked up the hapless woman from the road and admitted her to the hospital where Dr BK Bakshi successfully performed caesarian segment operation. Three infants were born through the operation.

Father Parmeshwar Mahto said that the birth of the quadruplets was a new challenge before him. The couple already has a daughter who is physically challenged. The addition of four more members to the family means greater endeavor for getting daily bread. However the hospital fraternity were in a celebratory mood with the birth of the quadruplets at the hospital.
