Jamshedpur: Seraikela-Kharsawan police arrested one Jayanti Rout for allegedly killing her husband, Niranjan Rout, in Katwa Chilku village of Kharsawan police station area.
According to Narsingh Munda, officer in-charge of Kharsawan PS, Jayanti had attacked her husband on his neck with a pick-axe on Wednesday last.
Jayanti told cops she had killed her husband in a fit of anger as he would often demand money from her for drinking. On the day of the killing, Niranjan started an altercation with his wife. Under provocation, Jayanti attacked him with the pick-axe, cops said.
Niranjan�s body was sent to Seraikela for postmortem examination.
