Jamshedpur, Feb 20: City-based builder Budhdev Giri Monday refuted the allegations of extortion and other criminal charges leveled against him by Pravir Patel, proprietor of Steel City Nursing Home. He said he will be lodging a defamation case of Rs 10 crore against Patel for lodging a fake and baseless case against him.

In a press conference, Giri said Patel had approached him to purchase two flats at Road No. 4 in CH Area in 2019. “Pravir Patel had paid 70 per cent of the total amount of Rs 5.65 crore. In the meantime, he sought change in the interior of the houses. He caused damage to the pillars in the name of changing the interiors. When I asked him to stop the work, he lodged a police complaint against me. The then officer-in-charge Vishnu Raut had called both parties at the police station and facilitated a settlement. But now Patel has lodged an FIR against me.”

Giri challenged Patel to produce proof of payments made to him and also give details of the day when he had flaunted arms to threaten the latter. He further demanded proof of extortion demand made by him. Pravir Patel could not be contacted for his comments on the allegations made by Budhdev Giri.
