Chaibasa, June 4: Chief secretary Rajbala Verma arrived at Rovam under Manoharpur Block to monitor the development work in progress.
Chief Secretary inspected the stall of various department accompanied by principal secretary SKG Rahate, ADG RK Mallik, Director Fishery Rajeev Kumar, Special secretary rural development Paritosh Upadhyay and Siddharth Tripathi.
Addressing the villagers, CS said, panchayat should be empowered and this can be achieved though village meeting were mukhiyas should perform their responsibility properly and the people and families of focused area should be benefitted through various government schemes and also the focus area women should be benefited with old age pension widow pension and sakhi mandal.
CS further said that the days of hardship due to the negative forces and as such extremist forces should be destroyed.
Verma assured that the state would be free from Maoists by December 2017 She appealed the parents to admit their girls to Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya and the success of the youths will help the state to progress.
CS Verma also inspected the ongoing scheme of various government department in 42 villages and asked the authorities to connect the youth with skill development program. Sunil Hembram and Kajal Kumari were handed over cheque by CS for uploading the photos of constructed toilets.
1.70 crore were given away by DRDA and JSLPS to self help group and Sakhi mandli and the amount of Rs 6 thousand was given to 25 women beneficiary under Chief Minister Laxmi Ladli scheme and Rs 30 thousand was given to 8 beneficiaries each under Chief Minister Kanya Dan Scheme.
Soil conservation department gave away 5 Pump sets and cash of 30 thousands. Deputy Commissioner Dr Shantnu Kumar welcomed all the officers and said that considering the goal of Mahatma Gandhi to reach out the development to every individual in the village, the government has selected the 40 villages of Saranda as focus area.
