Jamshedpur, October 7: On the final day of the Wildlife Week Celebrations at the Tata Steel Zoological Park, ‘On-the-spot Painting’ Competition was organized in association with Jamshedpur School of Arts on Friday.
A total of 250 students from 27 schools participated in the competition which was followed by the closing ceremony during which Chief Guest Rishad M Chinoy, Secretary, Tata Steel Zoological Society presented awards to the winners of the on the spot painting competition.
The competition was organized on four categories � Primary Category (Nursery � Std 1), Junior Category (Std II-V), Middle Category (Std. VI-VIII) and Senior Category (Std. IX-X). The winners in these categories were Arita Pati of DAV Public School, Bistupur (Primary Category), Devjeet Karmakar of Kerala Public School (KPS) Kadma (Junior Category), Shubham Modak of Narbheram Hansraj English School (Middle Category) and Neha of NTTF (Senior Category).
The judges for the competition were Krishna Sharan Mahato, Rajesh Bajpayee, Yashpal Singh. Present during the competition from Tata Steel Zoological Park were Bipul Chakrabarty, Director, S.K. Mahato, Curator, and zoo staff Pratap Singh Gill, Shefali Das, Ali Akhtar Khan, BN Majumdar, Dilip Dey, T Ram, Sunil Kar, M. Kumar and S.R. Mahato.
Wildlife Week Celebrations started on October 3 and witnessed a number of events which included Best Eco Club Teacher Award, Inter School Essay Competition, Inter School Debate Competition, Fancy Dress Competition and On the Spot Painting Competition.
A total number of 250 students across 27 institutions participated in these competitions.
Wildlife Week Celebration was coordinated by Dr. Seema Rani, Biologist cum Education Officer, Tata Steel Zoological Park.
