Wild elephant knocks Rajnagar block area

Seraikela : Every year herds of wild elephants enter the area in search of food before the kharif crop is ready in Rajnagar block area. According to the information, the villages of Bada Kadal, Chhota Kadal, Rodakocha, Ravankocha, Kalajharna, Sarjomdih, Patakocha etc. are hit by the terror of elephants.

Last night, a herd of elephants descended towards the village of Bada Kadal and ruined the paddy plant standing in the field of farmer Makhan Lal Sardar. Herds of elephants are encamped in the Rodacocha mountain. From here, elephants descend on the night in the village of Orissa on one side of the mountain and in the area of Rajnagar on the other. At night, herds of elephants are attacking this side of the mountain and sometimes in the villages on that side.

Farmers are trying to keep elephants away from the populated area and fields at their level. Ratjagga are trying to guard their crops with elephants. At the same time, like every time, the forest department has failed to relieve the villagers from the elephants. According to the villagers, they do not get any help from the forest department. “Neither torch is available nor cracker. In such a situation, we risk our lives and try to protect our crop from elephants. Villages along the jungle are affected by elephant terror every year,” said a villager.
