Wife arrested with paramour in Burmamines murder case

Jamshedpur: Police arrested Soni Devi, wife of Om Prakash Ram, the Burmamines resident who was found dead under mysterious conditions yesterday, along with her paramour Niranjan Kumar for allegedly killing her husband.

Cops said the arresting was made on the basis of police investigation and suspicion. They said the deceased was killed following a conspiracy planned by Soni Devi and Niranjan Kumar.

The accused duo had killed Ram after the latter came to know about their illicit affair. The deceased had found the two in a compromising situation in a bedroom at the place of his in-laws.

Enraged over the scene, he fell out with Niranjan who allegedly pushed Ram and caused him to sustain serious head injury. Ram was later strangulated to death by his wife and her alleged paramour with the help of a plastic water hose, police said.

Cops had recovered the body of Ram from the scene yesterday. They came to suspect the statement of Rams wife on the basis of external scratch marks on the face of the deceased.

The wife and in-laws of the deceased had however claimed that Ram had died after sustaining injuries when he fell on the floor near the toilet.

An FIR was lodged against Soni Devi and Niranjan Prasad in connection with the murder with the Burmamines police. Cops confiscated the water hose used in the crime.
