Who will BJP bank on to take on Dr Ajoy Kumar in Jamshedpur East 

Jamshedpur: With election dates approaching the fight for Jamshedpur East and West constituencies, it is getting interesting with each passing day. While Congress is having an upper edge in the steel city as it almost ready with the names of its candidates for the crucial seats of Jamshedpur East and West – Banna Gupta for Jamshedpur West and Dr Ajoy Kumar for Jamshedpur East – the BJP is still in a dilemma over the names of its candidates for the two crucial seats.

Going by initial surveys, both the possible Congress candidates (the names haven’t been announced yet) are strongly placed and poised to win the seats. Banna Gupta is a two-time MLA from Jamshedpur West and a cabinet minister in the Hemant Soren government. His popularity among voters of his constituency cutting across caste and religious lines remains very strong. The way he defeated rival BJP candidate Devendar Singh in the 2019 assembly elections speak volumes of his sway in his constituency.

BJP is still undecided on whom to field against him. Similarly in Jamshedpur East, a BJP stronghold till 2019 election the possible Congress candidate Dr Ajoy Kumar needs no introduction. An ex-super cop, a former member of parliament, a vociferous speaker Dr Ajoy has the clout to influence votes in his favour magically.

With Raghubar Das era almost coming to an end in Jamshedpur East the BJP voters are looking for a new popular face to elect as their representative. Several internal surveys of the BJP have zeroed on Kale’s candidature as the fittest candidate to give a befitting contest to rival Congress candidate.

Although names of BJP leader Abhay Singh, social worker Shiv Shankar Singh, former bureaucrat Vijoy Singh, and a member of the Raghubar Das family are also in the fray, Kale’s stands atop among all the probable’s.
