White Tiger dies at Jamshedpur’s Tata Zoo

Jamshedpur, Oct 7: The rare white tiger Kailash at Tata Zoo in Bistupur passed away on Monday leaving the zoo management and staff mourning. Kailash was over 14 years old and had been suffering from cancer for nearly two years. The zoo management conducted his last rites.

Dr. Palit, the zoo’s veterinarian, said, “The average lifespan of a white tiger is around 9 to 10 years but Kailash lived beyond that.” He also shared that after Kailash’s death, the zoo is preparing to bring another white tiger. The plan is to breed the new tiger with the two tigresses currently at the zoo to possibly have white tiger cubs in the future.
