Jamshedpur : The interschool fest, Wheels 2015 on the first day of the three day event at the Telco Club witnessed overwhelming response.
The first day of the inter school competition had solo dance, western vocals, graffiti, to name a few. Spandan Roy, media coordinator, Wheels, 2015 said that GET has been have been organising this for the last 27 years .
The prelims wehere 6000 students participated was held ion Dec 18 to Dec 20 and out of that we have selected 500 students who are participating in the final rounds,”.
The theme for Wheels 2015 is ‘Igniting the genius within’, where the youngsters will get an opportunity
to express their views More than 500 students from 60 schools participated on the first day.
The annual mega event is organised by the GET club, a body of graduate engineers who had begun their careers
at Tata Motors, TML Drivelines, Tata Power, Tata Cummins Ltd and Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery.
Events include cultural activities such as Dance, Vocals, Instrumentals, Band performance, Rangmanch,
Nukkad; educational activi- ties such as Quizzes, Creative writing, Spellathon, Science exhibition, Word war along with Face painting, Graffiti, Photography ,Treasure Hunt, Guess what, Reverse engineering, Origami, Improvised band, Movie-making & Workshops stimulating creative genius.
Moreover the Cyber events like NFS and Counter-strike wouldn’t be left out too. With this scintillating line up of 27 events WHEELS attracts participation in hundreds and generates footfalls in thousands. Schools, colleges, corporate houses and various clubs of Jamshedpur take part with enthusiasm in this extravaganza.
On Jan 9 Neeraj Shridhar will perform at Sumant Mulgaokar Stadium. ”We hope to enlighten, educate and encourage common people about the ways in which they can do their small part to change the current climate crisis that faces our world today,” said an official.
The GET club juggles entertainment as well as social responsibility with equal élan. The objective is to make a positive contribution to the society we live in.
The club and its activities are governed by the GET committee. The GET committee is a six member body serving for a period of one year.
Subsequently, the next batch of GETs takes over.
