West Singhbhum: Five Jawans Airlifted to Ranchi After Contracting Malaria

Manoharpur: Security forces in the Saranda forests are currently fighting a battle on multiple fronts. While a decisive battle against Naxalites is underway, a severe outbreak of malaria in the dense forests has created a critical health crisis for the jawans.

The health of five jawans from the CoBRA battalion, deployed at the Baliba camp in Saranda, suddenly deteriorated on Wednesday. All five exhibited severe symptoms of malaria and, given the gravity of their condition, were immediately airlifted to Ranchi for better medical treatment.

The gravity of the situation is highlighted by a recent casualty, on the previous Saturday, 42-year-old jawan Anand Singh, a native of Assam who was involved in the search operations, passed away at a hospital in Ranchi due to malaria. Additionally, on Saturday, when the Special DG of the CRPF, Deepak Kumar, visited Saranda, a jawan from the 205 CoBRA battalion, Anil Biswal, collapsed in front of him and had to be rushed to Ranchi via an official helicopter.
