West Bokaro, Iron Making win Tata Steel ID Athletics Championship  

Jamshedpur, Dec 21: Tata Steel Sports Department organised Inter Divisional (ID) Athletics Championship from November 18 to December 20 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports Tata Steel and Hemant Gupta, Head Adventure Program & Sports Academies graced the occasion as Chief Guest during the prize distribution ceremony.

The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from 16 Units of Tata Steel. More than 450 participants showcased their talent in this year’s competition.

In a display of exceptional skill and sportsmanship in men category West Bokaro emerged as the winner with 127 points, whereas Tata Steel Kalinganagar  bagged the runner’s up position with 78 points. Wire Division emerged as the 2^nd runner’s up in this Championship with 67 points.

In Women category, Iron Making emerged as the winner with 112 points, whereas Tata Steel Kalinganagar bagged the runner’s up position with 57 points. Team of Steel Manufacturing emerged as the 2^nd runner’s up in this Championship with 34 points.

To ensure fair play and adherence to the rules, the tournament benefited from the expertise of renowned technical officials including Arif Imam, Shrawan Kumar, Shyam Sharma, Mithlesh Kumar, N C Deb, W Rehman and K K Biswas performed their roles admirably.
