Jamshedpur, Sept 20: The weeklong Agrasen Jayanti jointly organized by Purvi Singhbhum Zila Agarwal Sammelan (PSZAS) and the Agarwal Yuva Manch (AYM) got off to a colourful start with DSP (Traffic) Animesh Gupta flagging off the treasure-hunt event with participants attired in multihued costumes and their vehicles painted in rainbow shades. A total of 14 teams with four participants each joined the fun-quest trail. The Shri Agrasen Jayanti is being organized at the Shri Agrasen Bhawan in Sakchi.
The formal inauguration ceremony of Agrasen Jayanti was conducted at Lakshmi Dadi Mandir on Sakchi Thakurbari Road.
The Chairman of the organizing committee, Ashok Chaudhary honoured the guests with scarves. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Vice Chancellor of Sri Sainath University, Ranchi, SP Agarwal who was presented a brick and one rupee as memento, a ritual that was initiated by Shri Agrasen ji Maharaj where new comers to his kingdom were presented with ‘Ek Eent, Ek Rupaiya’ by the residents of Agroha so that they (the new comers) could build their houses and start their business. President Santosh Agrawal delivered the welcome speech.

Jamshedpur, Sep 20: Agrasen Jayanti celebrations began in the city here on Tuesday with East Singhbhum Zila Agrawal Sammelan and Agrawal Yuva Manch jointly organizing a car decoration competition. Team Chandrabali was given cash prize of Rs 5000 for securing the first place. The theme of the contest was ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’. The team members included Kavita Agrawal, Manisha Sanghi, Pinki Kedia and Anubhav Agrawal.
