New Covid guidelines after rise in cases 

Ranchi, June 20: As Covid-19 cases in several parts of the country continue to rise, the Jharkhand government on Monday issued new guidelines for the containment of infections.

Wearing face cover/mask is compulsory in closed spaces, workplaces and public transport. Spitting in public places is prohibited,” reads the order. The new rules also call for educational and training institutions, hotels and restaurants, gyms, movie halls and other public spaces to comply with earlier issued SOPs from the central and state government.

According to the newly issued guidelines, wearing of face cover or mask is compulsory in closed spaces, in work places and while using public transport, Individuals shall maintain adequate social distance in public places and at workplaces.

This apart, the order states that  provisions for hand wash or sanitiser will be made at workplaces while spitting in public places is prohibited and proper ventilation must be ensured in closed spaces

As of Monday morning, the state had 108 active COVID-19 cases – up from 94 on Sunday.
