Water supply scheme in Bagbera Colony to be operational soon

Jamshedpur, Oct 10: Thousands of residents of Bagbera Housing Colony can finally look forward to clean and regular drinking water, as the long-pending Bagbera Water Supply Scheme is set to become operational within a month. SDO Mahendra Baitha and JE Ashutosh from the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department assured residents that the project’s final phase will be completed soon, ensuring consistent water supply to the entire colony.

A delegation of Bagbera Panchayat representatives had earlier submitted a six-point memorandum of demands to the department, under the guidance of Executive Engineer Sumit Kumar. Key demands included restarting the Bagbera Housing Colony water scheme, immediate restoration of water supply to 50 houses on Kunwar Singh Maidan Road No. 3 and urgent repair of the motor room at the filter pump house on Road No. 1. The delegation also requested that monthly committee meetings be held to ensure transparency and that the department shared income and expenditure details with the committee.

After detailed discussions, SDO Baitha and JE Ashutosh assured that the water supply scheme will become fully operational within a month. They further promised that within a week, an official letter would be issued releasing financial details, and water supply to affected houses on Road No. 3 would be restored immediately.

Panchayat committee member Sunil Gupta, Deputy Mukhiya Santosh Thakur, Bagbera Madhya Panchayat Mukhiya representative K.D. Munda and several local residents were present during the meeting.
