Jamshedpur, Oct. 25: Relevance of Swach Bharat and Namami Gange campaign is only when civic bodies and private companies don�t consider the water sources as waste management source, said President of Damodar Bachao Aandolan while addressing the social workers, Intellectual and members of civil society at his Doranda residence on Sunday.
At the event Rai announced that water source cleanliness drive will held from December 13 to 20 and year 2016 will be celebrated as water source cleanliness year. Minister further said that since 2004 the campaign to make Damodar pollution is going on and River Subarnrekha, Karo and Koyna will also be made pollution free.
He also urged the state government to provide full support in making these rivers clean and dirt free. He cleanliness drive will be launched on December 13 were rally and other events will be held at every district of the state.
All the speakers at the meeting decided that during the campaign, volunteers will collect water samples from various water sources, examine the level of pollution and ascertain the reasons behind the water pollution. The findings will subsequently be submitted to the concerned officials as well as the anti-pollution board.
The concluding function of the water supply and sanitation campaign will be held in Ranchi on December 20 at Ranchi, wherein Souvenir will be published containing all information regarding pollution at water sources.
