Jamshedpur, March 22: On the occasion of World Water day Jusco MD Ashish Mathur flagged-off the awareness drive from Jubilee Park on Sunday, March 22.
On the occasion Mr Mathur said, �Water is a depleting natural resource and one should work towards conserving and recycling the existing source. Jusco is working on a comprehensive plan for recycling the waste water and at the same time create awareness amongst the consumers for its conservation.
It is the responsibility of each and every individual to conserve water and spread the message across the society. He further said that we must preserve the mother earth for our future generations.
MD said Jusco has implemented major initiatives in the recent past in our journey towards making Jamshedpur a safer, cleaner, greener and water wise city.
Including Surface water harvesting at Jublee Park,SNTI and Few major flat Complexes. Waste Water recycling at Kharkai and Bara Sewage Treatment Plant; With this initiative about 40MLD water will be treated and recycled and used for horticulture �purposes and with this initiative Jamshedpur will be closure to becoming a Zero Liquid Discharge City.
This initiative will further result in reduction of about 10MGD water withdrawl from Subernarekha River. Sub Surface drip irrigation System and Pop up sprinkler has been implemented in Jubilee Park and for avenue plantation along KS link.
After the Flag-off, Teams� comprising members from Water Division organized Awareness Drives at various locations like Kasidih, Bhalubasa, Dhatkidih Community Centers and also at the Bhetia and Sonari and Nildhi Joggers Park.
Ashish Mathur also inaugurated the Rain Water Harvesting Structure at Jubilee Officer�s Flat for conscious collection and storage of rainwater to cater to demands of water, for drinking, domestic purpose & also to inculcate a culture of water conservation. Present during the function were Capt. D Mishra, Deepak Kamath, A P Singh, Arvind Sinha, S Halder, Rajvardhan, SriLal, S L Das, B K Dubey, R K Thakur, and other Senior Members from Team Jusco and Union Officials.
March 22 is celebrated as World Water Day throughout the universe. The objective of this initiative is to make people aware of the importance of water and how as responsible human being we conserve it for our future generation. The theme for World Water Day 2015 is ‘Water and Sustainable Development’
