Jamshedpur, March 22: School children, parents, principals and volunteers attended the concluding function on World Water Day at Centre for Excellence organized by Tata Steel.
Suresh Dutt Tripathi, Vice President, Human Resource Management, Tata Steel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The winners of the painting, essay, elocution competitions & the quiz were recognised during the function.
On the occasion Mr Tripathy laid stress on conservation and sustainability of water. He added that we should raise awareness and inspire global action around water conservation. Both individuals and businesses have a responsibility to protect this resource.
As a part of this week long campaign (16th -22nd March) a quiz on the theme of “Water and Sustainable Development” was conducted for all employees of Tata Steel. There were close to 1800 respondents to the quiz.
Painting competitions, essay & elocution competitions were conducted for the school children of Jamshedpur on the same theme.
Videos & presentations depicting the scarcity of water & its impact on our present & future were shown to more than 30 schools in Jamshedpur.
11 schools participated in the interschool essay & elocution competitions. Padyatras were organised at 5 community centres to support the cause.
