Jamshedpur, Aug 13: In a breakthrough, Kadma police arrested Harsh Poddar alias Monty, an accused in a fraud case of Rs 96 lakh, from Musabani in East Singhbhum district. The accused is a resident of New Colony, Musabani. An FIR against cheating was registered against him on January 8, 2018 on the complaint of Kadma resident Dilip Agarwal. The accused was absconding in the case for three years.
Kadma police station in-charge Manoj Kumar Thakur said that the accused had taken Dilip Agarwal to run four dumpers in Jadugora Uranium Corporation in 2016. An agreement was made to give a monthly payment of one and a half lakh rupees per dumper. The accused got four dumpers operated for 16 months. The rent for the four vehicles was to be paid at Rs 6 lakh per month, but the accused did not pay the rent for 16 months. A total of 96 lakh rupees were owed to the accused by the dumper owner. On asking for money, the accused kept informing the owner that the bill had not been paid by the company. Dilip Agarwal found out the reality of the matter. It was learned that the accused kept on taking bills from the company every month and did not give him rupees. A complaint was made to Kadma police station. After a long absconding, the police of Kadma police station arrested the accused.
