Chandil: Voting took place in the open at Government Middle School, Makulakocha, booth number 255, at the Dalma foothills in Chandil under Ichagarh Assembly constituency on Thursday.
Poll duty staff and security personnel reached the venue on foot. The voting took place under the sky due to security reasons in the Maoist-hit area.
At Nimdih, situated turned weird when an EVM turned faulty and pressing its buttons resulted in sounds coming from the machine. Later the problem was fixed and polling resumed normally thereafter.
EVM units were reported to be faulty in Chimtia under Ichagarh block and in Asanbani under Chandil block, sources said.
