Ghatshila, April 10: Ghatshila College organized a voter awareness signature campaign on Wednesday to educate students about the significance of voting. The campaign was inaugurated by College Principal Dr. RK Choudhary during which Ghatshila BDO Unika Sharma was present.
Over a thousand students, who are set to cast their votes for the first time, pledged to participate in the upcoming Jamshedpur Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 25. They also committed to motivating their families and communities to exercise their voting rights.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Choudhary emphasized the importance of celebrating democracy by fulfilling the duty of voting on May 25. He announced that a voter’s oath would be administered to all students on April 13 to instill a sense of fearlessness while voting.
BDO Unika Sharma also spoke to the students about the significance of voting and encouraged them to actively participate in the electoral process.
The event was attended by Dr. PK Gupta, Dr. SK Singh, Dr. DC Ram, Professor Indal Paswan, Dr. Sandeep Chandra, Dr. SP Singh, Prof. Maheshwar Pramanik, Dr. Sanjesh Tiwari, Dr. Kumar Vishal, Prof. Vikas Munda, Prof. Soma Singh, Dr. Kanchan, along with a large number of teachers, staff, and students.
