Chaibasa, May 5: In a fervent appeal to uphold democracy and the Constitution, Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren called upon the residents of Chaibasa to cast their votes in favor of Grand Alliance candidate Joba Majhi, ensuring a resounding victory for him in the upcoming elections. Addressing a spirited election rally held on Sunday, Soren emphasized the importance of supporting Majhi to safeguard the interests of the tribal community and thwart attempts to undermine their traditions.
Accusing the BJP of hindering the progress of tribals and plotting against their traditional Manki and Munda system, Soren vowed to prioritize the preservation and promotion of tribal languages. He announced plans to introduce teaching of tribal languages in schools from the primary level starting in June, with the recruitment of dedicated teachers for this purpose. Soren also pledged to construct model schools in every block to enhance educational facilities.
Amidst the enthusiastic crowd gathered at Tadisai in Kumardungi block and Ladusai Raka ground in Putisiya, Health Minister Banna Gupta echoed Soren’s sentiments, condemning the BJP’s alleged attempts to loot Jharkhand. He called upon the people to strengthen the Grand Alliance by ensuring a landslide victory for Joba Majhi, emphasizing the need to address the region’s challenges at the national level.

In his address, Grand Alliance candidate Joba Majhi urged unity in the fight against the “dictatorial” BJP government at the Centre. Majhi highlighted the resilience of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the face of BJP’s efforts to undermine him, urging voters to support the Grand Alliance’s “Bow and Arrow” campaign on May 13.
The public meeting witnessed a massive turnout, with villagers from remote areas converging to express their support. Notable figures present on the stage included Mazgaon MLA Neeral Purti, JMM District Secretary Sonaram Devgam, former MLA Devendra Nath Champia, and Congress District President Chandrashekhar Das, among others.
The event underscored the united resolve of the Grand Alliance to challenge the BJP’s dominance in the region, with Joba Majhi emerging as a formidable candidate poised to represent the aspirations of the people of Chaibasa.
