Jamshedpur: �Once bitten, twice shy� is the proverbial reality facing the denizens of Makdampur. This pertains to an incident in the recent past in the Munshi Mohalla locality when erratic voltage fluctuations saw high electricity measuring 400 volts suddenly destroying electronic and electrical items in homes being destroyed.
The situation has returned to the area once again. The transformer near Arun Paan Dukaan needs immediate looking into as voltage fluctuations are resulting in erratic power flow that can again destroy the household electronic and electrical gadgets. The Makdampur denizens are also experiencing regular power cuts. One resident informed, �Power comes and goes and this happens at irregular intervals. Sometimes the voltage is very low and some other times it is very high, as high as 400 volts. We don�t know what the problem is. We suspect it may be due to rampant power theft for which we, the legitimate power consumers are being made to suffer.�
