Jamshedpur, June 11 : Police have recovered the pistol which was used in the murder of the 24-year-old building material supplier Vishal Singh at Kharia bustee under Ulidih police station area in Mango on May 10 night.
The pistol was recovered from the house of Rahul Gupta at Paramanand Colony in Mango. The police also recovered the scooter, used in the murder of Vishal, from the house of Arjun Prasad at Sankosai in Mango.
Gupta is one of the three accused who had on Wednesday surrendered before the court in connection with the Vushal murder case. During interrogation of the three murder accused, one of them opened up.
OC, Mukesh Kumar Chaudhury said that after killing Vishal, Gupta and his two associates Kundan Singh and UttamMahto on May 10, the trio had absconded, but surrendered before court three days ago. The three were forwarded to the Ghaghidih Central Jail in the case, but later on Friday we took the trio into police remand and cross-examined them.
On Saturday, we returned Gupta and Mahato, but detained Kundan who was rigorously grilled. Ultimately, Kundan gave in and divulged that the pistol that had been used in the murder was kept in the house of Gupta at Paramanand Colony.
Chaudhury, who is the investigating officer of the case, said that they also recovered the scooter used in the murder from the house of one Arjun Prasad.He said the pistol had been kept in a suit-case at the house of Gupta.
Vishal, who was a resident of Subhas Colony in Ulidih, had sustained four bullets and succumbed to his injuries while being shifted from the MGM Medical College Hospital to Tata Main Hospital on May 10.
