Jamshedpur, Dec 2: Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur, celebrated its 73rd Annual Sports Day with grandeur and camaraderie over the weekend, 2024, at JRD Tata Stadium. Vibhuti D. Adesara, Head of Sports Events & Training Centres, Tata Steel Limited, was the Chief Guest.

The event opened with a ceremonial unfurling of the school flag and a vibrant March Past well synchronized by the four squads-Crimson,Green,Gold,Violet and led by School President Khyati Bakshi. The Gold Squad dominated the March Past, winning in both the Std IX–X and Std XI–XII categories.

National-Level Achievements Recognized
The Sports Day also acknowledged students who excelled nationally- Yoga: Naisha Sarkar (1st), Ananya Singh (1st), and Devnishtha Mondal (3rd) at CISCE Nationals. Chess: Dyuti Chakraborty (3rd) at CISCE Nationals. Taekwondo: Sukriti Singh (1st) at CISCE Nationals. Swimming: Jennifer Sugam (2nd) at Khelo India Youth Games 2024. Athletics: Amandeep Kaur (3rd) at Khelo India Youth Games 2024 and 1st at CISCE Nationals. Boxing: Riddhima Raj (3rd) at CISCE Nationals.

Violet Squad clinched the Overall Championship, while the Best Disciplined Squad was awarded to Gold Squad. Individual championships were secured by Anushka Pandey (Std IX–X) and Sonalika Das (Std XI–XII). Amandeep Kaur was honored as the Best Outgoing Athlete for Plus-Two.

The day was marked by vibrant displays, including karate demonstrations and colorful performances such as Candy Clouds by Kindergarten, ‘Ribbons of Joy’ by classes I&II ‘ ‘Floral Bliss’ by classes III,IV&V and ‘Hues of Happiness’ by senior students.

“I feel extremely happy to see our students perform excellently in different sports events.Here in Sacred Heart Convent School we give emphasis on overall development of a child. Hence, along with academics we also encourage our students to take part in various sports event,” said the school Principal Sister Steffi A.C.
The event concluded with the lowering of the school flag, the National Anthem, and the Beating of the Retreat, leaving the audience inspired by the message of unity and sportsmanship.
