Public welfare work to be pursued, even if opposed : Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy

Jamshedpur: The newly elected MLA of Jamshedpur West,  Saryu Roy , proclaimed a significant shift in the atmosphere of the region, declaring that fear-stricken people are now stepping forward with newfound courage. Addressing a massive crowd during a felicitation ceremony at the Goswami Bajrang Bali Mandir in Kadma,  Roy  underscored the end of fear and terror in the locality. “The gathering of thousands of people today is evidence of the transformation,” he remarked.

Roy  vowed to eradicate fear, corruption, terror, and unethical practices from Jamshedpur West, focusing particularly on the Kadma area. Highlighting the irregularities of the past five years, he criticized the administration and police for their complicity, as well as Tata Steel for its alleged indirect cooperation. “It is our responsibility to correct these wrongs in the public interest,” he emphasized.

Roy  detailed several alleged irregularities, including: closure of gates in KD flats. The removal of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s statue from a park. Mismanagement of roadwork involving Tata Steel. The dismantling of newly laid paver blocks. Misappropriation of MLA funds for non-existent schemes.

He assured that every wrongdoing would be addressed, and actions would be taken against those responsible.

Addressing the issue of criminal gangs in Kadma and Azad Nagar,  Roy  vowed to eliminate such groups that have created an atmosphere of fear and terror among residents. He stressed that his commitment to public welfare will not waver, even if it invites opposition from influential entities like Tata Steel or the administration.

Roy  listed his priorities for improving civic amenities, including access to drinking water, electricity, cleanliness, and roads at government-approved rates. He accused a section of the police and Tata Steel of facilitating unlawful activities in the constituency. He also pointed out incidents of election interference, where individuals working in his favor were allegedly harassed, and his defeat was falsely announced during vote counting.

Stressing the importance of unity,  Roy  declared, “For me, the entire Jamshedpur is one. The division between East and West is purely political.” He assured support for good initiatives and opposition to wrongful acts in both areas.

He vowed to enforce all government and assembly directives that had been neglected over the past five years. “Jamshedpur West will be run according to rules and laws,” he stated firmly.

Concluding his address,  Roy  pledged to oppose actions against court or government orders and to prioritize the implementation of initiatives that serve the public interest. His mission to restore justice and eliminate fear from Jamshedpur marks a new chapter in the constituency’s governance.
