Violence no solution to Jharkhand�s problems: Hemant Soren

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today termed Left-wing violence as the major challenge before the state government.

He said violence was not a solution to any of the problems faced by the people of Jharkhand. He said the backward classes, tribal people and the minority communities should be given their rightful in order to weed out the problem of extremism from the state forever.

Soren was speaking during the official Independence Day function organized by the Government of Jharkhand at Morabadi ground on Friday. He hoisted the national flag and was given a guard of honour during the Independence Day parade.

In his address, the CM said resorting to violent means to protect one�s right often led to the encroachment of rights of the other people. He said the system and development were adversely affected by extremism and terrorism.

He said employment opportunities were huge in the field of tourism, hospitality, travels, transport, packaging, real estate services, media and entertainment, health care, insurance and banking. By the year 2020, as many as 1.70 lakh youths may be given jobs by the government, he said.

Soren said a strong political willpower was the need of the hour. He said the well established corporate houses of the state too, had the moral responsibility of giving priority to local people in jobs.

He said the government was working on the policy of developing villages with the help of youths. He said the government was seriously considering the proposal of making all colleges in the state constituent colleges and giving grants to newly proposed madarasas.

The CM further said that the government was going to establish a common platform for technical education institutions of the state. He said the governemnt was going to set up Indian Institute of Information Technology on PPP mode in collaboration with the Central government.

A state medical and health infrastructure development and procurement corporation has also been formed in the state, he said.

Soren said a women�s helpline �Aparajita� was proposed to be formed in the state. He said the government was also committed to save the natural resources from exploitation.
