Potka: The villagers of Gwalkata panchayat in Potka put up a demonstration on Wednesday to protest the incident of locking of the local anganbari centre’s gate by unidentified persons.
They demanded that the anganbari centre be opened by the district administration in the larger interest of the local residents.
The anganbari sevika Dulari Sardar said that certain unidentified persons had put locks on the gate of the anganbari centre on 2nd May last. A complaint has been made to the block development officer (BDO) Prabhas Chandra Das in this connection.
The villagers handed over a memorandum signed by 50 of them to the BDO in this regard. They said a dispute over the appointment of anganbari sevika led to the locking of the anganbari centre by the dissident side.
Among those present on the occasion included Sripati Sardar, Anandani Sardar, Subhadra Sardar, Germany Sardar, Vishnupado Sardar, Gurucharan Sardar and Lobin Sardar.
