Jamshedpur, July 4: Armed with traditional weapons, villagers on Tuesday protested against the garbage dumping in Kasidih village, before the Gamharia Circle Officer. During the protest villagers said that garbage from Adityapur Municipal area is being dumped near Kasidih village were Jahersthan and Sitarampur Dam is situated.
The garbage which is being dumped is flowing into the dam due to the monsoon season and the drinking water facility is getting debilitated. The villagers also submitted a memorandum to CO demanding setup of Dumping Yard. Present at the protest were Ghasiram Majhi, Balram Hansda, Munshi Hansda, Vijay Gorai, Shivaji Mahato, Ranjeet mahato, Jyotsana mahato, Urmila Gorai, Manju Devi and villagers in large numbers.
