Villagers protest encroachment

Gamharia: The villagers of Satvahini Jamalpur in Adityapur police station area are up in arms against a local land shark who has allegedly tried to usurp a government plot used for thoroughfare by the local residents.

The villagers alleged that there is a large playground used by local children and youths. The ground is also used for community activities. There is a pond which can be reached by using the said plot.

The villagers met the accused Pradip Kumar and asked him to give their a right of way through the said plot, but were reportedly driven away and threatened. They later met the local circle officer and demanded his intervention to resolve the issue.
