Ranchi: Chief Secretary RS Sharma today called for the creation of a separate category for the development agreement for registration of apartments.
He was speaking at the meeting of Registration Department at the Project Building held to discuss the issues regarding Registration of Flats. The Chief Secretary suggested the amendment of the Jharkhand Apartment (Flat) Ownership Act as possession of the flat only after that flat is registered.
He also laid stress on running a campaign through the daily newspapers for the flat owners and buyers. The campaign must focus on the prior registration of the flats and also to educate the current owners about the flat being legally registered.
Chief Secretary directed the Department to present a detailed report of the development agreement to entail transparency in registration process. The Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, Shri. A.K. Singh Secretary, Registration Department, Shri. Satendra Singh, along with other officials were present in the meeting.
