Village committees will be strengthened: Chief Secretary

Ranchi: Directing Panchayati Raj officials, Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma on Thursday said that committees should be formed through Gram Sabha by 20th February and work plans should be made to monitor the work. She said that eight committees including education, health, nourishment and sanitation should be formed at village level to implement economic and social work effectively on grass root level.

The CS said that for the implementation of schemes at village level, qualitative improvement in school education and health services like vaccination of children through anganwadi centres and distributing nutritious food items, the gram committees should be made more powerful. She said that districts where committees are not formed, gram sabhas should be made as per schedule by 20th February.

The department officials said that letters related to formation of the committees have been sent and 35% economic and social survey has been completed.

In connection with net connectivity coverage, the CS said that one room of all panchayat secretariats should be made as per the parameter of computer room so that CSC (common service center) should be started there.
The CS said that 1417 panchayats of seven districts are to be covered with Bharat Net.

Hence, electrification work should be completed and internal wiring be ensured. She said that appointment of computer operators should be started so that online service should be started just after installation of computer. She said that the panchayat which has been completed up to 80% must be completed by March. Completed Panchayats should be uploaded on the panchayat portals.

Panchayatiraj Secretary Vandana Dadel and other officers were present on this occasion.
