Vikram Sharma Murder Case: Mastermind Yashraj Singh Arrested from Uttar Pradesh

Jamshedpur: In a major breakthrough in the sensational murder case of gangster Vikram Sharma, the Uttarakhand Police and Special Task Force (STF) have arrested the alleged mastermind, Yashraj Singh, from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. A reward of ₹1 lakh had been announced for information leading to his arrest. He had been on the run for several months, while multiple police teams were continuously conducting raids across different states in search of him.

Jamshedpur Connection Emerges Strongly

The arrested accused, Yashraj Singh, is a resident of Garhabasa under the Bagbera police station area of Jamshedpur. Earlier, the police had also arrested his father, Rajkumar Singh alias Raju, from Jamshedpur in connection with the same case.

Investigations have revealed that Yashraj was one of the key conspirators behind the murder. Police sources stated that he not only planned the crime but also arranged logistics, travel, accommodation, and operational expenses for the shooters involved in the killing.

Gangster Shot Dead Outside Gym in Dehradun

The murder took place on February 13, 2026, when Vikram Sharma was shot dead outside a gym near Silver City Mall on Rajpur Road in Dehradun. Vikram, originally a history-sheeter from Jharkhand, had shifted his operations to Uttarakhand and was reportedly involved in the mining business there.

Following the incident, a case was registered based on a complaint lodged by gangster Akhilesh Singh. During the investigation, the police examined CCTV footage and identification documents of the accused, leading to extensive raids in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Uttarakhand.

Extortion Plot Led to Murder

During interrogation, Yashraj Singh disclosed that he came in contact with Vishal Singh in 2024 while supplying food items to shops at Tatanagar Railway Station. Under Vishal’s influence, he, along with Akash Prasad, Ankit Verma, Jitendra Sahu, and Mohit alias Akshay Thakur, allegedly conspired to extort money from Vikram Sharma and later eliminate him.

Police investigations further revealed that the accused had earlier attempted to attack Vikram Sharma in Noida and Delhi in December 2025. However, those attempts failed due to tight security arrangements around the gangster.

Reconnaissance Conducted Before Execution

After the failed attempts, the gang reportedly conducted reconnaissance in Dehradun and discovered that Vikram Sharma regularly visited the gym alone in the morning. The accused then identified this as the most vulnerable opportunity to execute the murder plan.

Digital Transactions Helped Crack the Case

Police officials stated that digital evidence played a significant role in tracing the accused. Yashraj allegedly transferred ₹15,000 through Paytm to bring accused Akash Prasad from Ranchi to Delhi. UPI transactions were also used for hotel bookings in Haridwar and payments for rented bikes and scooters used during the operation.

After the murder, Yashraj reportedly hid at his aunt’s residence in Kharagpur, West Bengal. On May 12, he travelled to Haridwar to meet his father’s lawyer before proceeding to Saharanpur for legal consultation, where the STF finally tracked and arrested him.

Six Accused Still Absconding

So far, three accused persons have been arrested in the case, while six others remain absconding. Police teams are continuing raids in multiple states to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the conspiracy and execution of the murder.
