Jamshedpur: A cultural programme was organized on the occasion of Poila Baisakh at Vijaya Green Earth, Dimna Road, on Sunday.
Many children and women from the colony participated in the event. Children danced to the tune of Bollywood numbers and songs while women too, performed to mark the celebrations.
The programme continued till late night. The performers sang Bengali, Hindi and Maithili songs.
The general secretary of Vijaya Green Earth Flat Owners� Welfare Association Gopal Chandra Tiwary announced that next year Hindu New Year will also be celebrated in the colony with fervour.
