Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya triumphs in inter-school basketball tournament

Jamshedpur, Jan 18: The two-day inter-school basketball tournament organized at Telco Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, hosted by the Jharkhand State Basketball Association (R) in collaboration with the East Singhbhum Basketball Association, concluded with a thrilling victory. The event saw a competitive display of skills, with 25 teams participating, including 18 boys’ teams and 7 girls’ teams.

The tournament’s opening ceremony was graced by prominent dignitaries, including City SP Kumar Subhashish, who attended as the chief guest, and special guests such as Association President Bharat Singh, Manas Kumar Mishra, Chinmaya School Principal Mina Vilkhu, and several other notable figures. The highlight of the day was the electrifying match between Chinmaya Vidyalaya and RMS Khutadih, in which Chinmaya Vidyalaya emerged victorious.

In his address, City SP Kumar Subhashish emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and balance in life. “Sports should not only be played with competitive spirit but also with respect for each other. They are essential for both physical health and mental well-being, complementing academic pursuits,” he stated.

The tournament attracted substantial enthusiasm, with a remarkable turnout from local schools. The final match of the tournament was scheduled for the following Sunday, where the winner would be crowned after a fierce battle. As sports continue to thrive in the region, the event proved to be a fantastic platform for nurturing young talent and promoting sportsmanship among the youth.
