Vibrant launch of Tata Steel’s Samvad Program at Gopal Maidan

Jamshedpur: Gopal Maidan in Bistupur resonated with lively beats as Tata Steel’s Samvad program commenced on Wednesday. The event was inaugurated by Majhi Pargana of the society and Tata Steel’s CEO & MD, TV Narendran, amid the traditional tunes of 351 drums, percussion instruments, and musical ensembles.

The opening ceremony featured a spectacular cultural program with artists presenting a burst of colors. Guests enthusiastically joined the festivities, dancing to the rhythmic beats of drums. The event has drawn the participation of 2500 representatives from 150 tribal groups across the country. Their discussions will revolve around the conditions, directions, and development of tribal communities in India and worldwide.

Samvad, an annual event since 2014, serves as a unique platform that not only unites tribal communities but also addresses their development while preserving their rich traditions and cultures. This year’s Samvad, themed “Walk With Me,” continues the legacy with similar objectives.

In keeping with tradition, this dialogue is dedicated to Jharkhand’s esteemed tribal freedom fighter, Birsa Munda. More than 350 Tribal Change Makers from 150 tribal groups, representing 20 states and two union territories, are actively participating in the dialogue conference to share real-life experiences.

The event boasts 42 stalls featuring the work of 110 artisans, showcasing 28 art forms from 37 tribal communities across India. Workshops and sessions with experts in the field of handicrafts enrich the cultural exchange at Samvad 2023.
