Jamshedpur: A delegation of Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP) members met the senior superintendent of police (SSP) of East Singhbhum, Anoop T Mathew, on Monday and demanded arresting of culprits responsible for assaulting Mantu Dubey, a VHP member, in Shastrinagar, Kadma.
Leading the delegation, Janardan Pandey, vice president of VHP, Jamshedpur unit, said Dubey was attacked by a group of people armed with weapons in Shastrinagar on 6th May last. The assailants comprised cattle traffickers and owners of slaughterhouses who are opposed to the activities of VHP aimed to save cows from being slaughtered.
The VHP leaders threatened to go on massive agitation in case the assailants were not caught soon. They said the police should take stringent action against the culprits who were involved in smuggling and killing of cows.
Among those present in the delegation included Chandan Choubey, Yamuna Dubey, Gopal Tiwary, Ravi Singh Chandel, Avtar Singh Parmar, Deepak Sharma, AK Giri and D Gopi Rao.
