Jamshedpur: A seminar on the legal rights of senior citizens was organized at Nyaya Sadan, the mediation centre situated on the premises of Jamshedpur Civil Court, under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) here on Monday.
The chief guest of the programme was District Judge I Ashok Kumar. In his address, Kumar apprised the participants about the legal rights of senior citizens as laid down in various laws in the country.
He appealed to senior citizens to take the help of DLSA in case they find their rights violated in any manner by the accused persons.
DLSA secretary BK Lal said the senior citizens should not hesitate in approaching the DLSA in case they face any difficulty arising from violation of their legal rights. He said there were para-legal volunteers appointed by the DLSA for the help of the citizens.
Many people were present during the seminar. They included Dilip Jaisawal, Kapildev Thakur and Sunil Pandey.
