Jamshedpur, Feb 11: Sakchi police busted vehicle theft gang with the arrest of five individuals, including the main accused. The operation led to the recovery of 19 stolen vehicles, exposing the extent of the criminal network.
The arrested suspects have been identified as the alleged kingpin, Rajeev Bhagat, also known as Aadu from Burmamines, along with Rajan Das, Ronit Deep alias Polio from Telco Mahanand Basti, Vishal Das, and Shambhu Paswan. Among the recovered items was a master key believed to have been used in the commission of thefts.

City SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat provided details of the operation, stating that the investigation began when a stolen scooter from Sakchi was found abandoned near Gadabaasa. Rajeev Bhagat was detained at the location, leading to subsequent arrests based on the information obtained during the interrogation.
Further revelations during questioning indicated that after stealing the vehicles, the gang members would reportedly pawn them to Vishal, Ronit, and Shambhu for amounts ranging from three to five thousand rupees. Subsequently, the trio would allegedly sell the stolen vehicles at a higher price, dividing the proceeds among themselves. It is estimated that the gang has sold between 30 to 40 stolen bikes.
