Vehicle checking intensifies across Jamshedpur ahead of general elections

Jamshedpur, March 21: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha General Elections 2024, the District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner of Jamshedpur, Ananya Mittal, has issued directives to bolster vehicle checking measures across the region. In accordance with these instructions, a comprehensive vehicle checking campaign has been launched, with stringent monitoring at 18 checkpoints manned by officials including SDOs, BDOs, COs, and police station in-charges.

The campaign encompasses thorough scrutiny of all types of vehicles, ranging from two-wheelers to cargo and luxury vehicles, at inter-state and inter-district checkpoints. Emphasis is placed on verifying vehicle documents to deter any attempts of transporting illicit items such as freebies, liquor, money, or drugs.

During the recent round of inspections conducted on Wednesday, magistrates overseeing the checkpoints emphasized the importance of ensuring peaceful and fair elections. The intensified vehicle checking aims to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain the integrity of the electoral process.

A total of 18 checkpoints have been strategically positioned across the district, including locations such as Badshol, Jamshol, Galudih, Dhalbhumgarh, Jadugora, Musabani, Sundernagar, Hata Chowk, Kowali, Kamalpur, Pardih, Dimna Chowk, MGM police station, Adityapur Bridge, Kharkai Bridge, Adityapur, and Kadma Bridge.

The District Election Officer urges all residents to ensure their vehicle documents are in order and readily available for inspection at checkpoints. Additionally, citizens are advised against transporting any prohibited items illegally, as stringent action will be taken against offenders under relevant laws.
