Jamshedpur, May 7: Students from Jamshedpur schools proved their merit in class 10 and 12 exams conducted by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.
In ICSE, Vedika Chandra from Gulmohur High School, Jamshedpur and Sounak Banerjee from Kerala Samajam Model School, Jamshedpur bagged 99 per cent each to bag the first position in the state. Two students, Nandini Choudhary from Loreto Convent, Ranchi and Navneet Raj from St. Thomas School, Dhurwa, Ranchi came second with 98.80 per cent. In the third place, Ayush Singh from Little Flower School, Jamshedpur; Shubhangi Singh from Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur and Alisha from St. Thomas School, Dhurwa, Ranchi bagged 98.60 per cent.

In class 12 exams Srishti Vaidya, an arts student from Loyola School scored 99.75 per cent. Gaurangi Chopra also from Loyola School and a commerce student scored 99.50 per cent while ISC science students Marshneil Prasad from Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur, Rishav Kumar from Motilal Nehru Public School, Jamshedpur and Ishika Jain from Narbheram Hansraj English School scored 99 per cent.
This year as many as 11,968 Class X and 4,824 Class XII students appeared in ICSE and ISC exams, respectively, from 105 schools in Jharkhand. ISC students appeared from 48 schools. The percentage of successful ICSE students was 98.55 while those who emerged successful in ISC comprised 95.98 per cent.
While Jamshedpur has 32 CISCE schools, Ranchi has 24 followed by Dhanbad which has 12.Bokaro and Hazaribagh have two and one schools respectively. The rest 29 schools are scattered across other districts of Jharkhand.
Nonetheless, the toppers of the city who have made their school and family proud with their performance are looking forward to excel in their professional life too.
