Jamshedpur, April 1: Voluntary Blood Donors Association (VBDA), Jharkhand celebrated its 29th foundation day with pomp and gaiety on Saturday, at Michael John Auditorium in Bistupur.
The event started with prayers followed by welcome of the chief guest and guest of honour. Beli Bodhanwala, the chairman of the association gave the welcome speech after which the chief guest Ruchi Narendran lit the traditional lamp.
General Secretary of the association Pradeep Ghosal presented the annual report and in his speech said that VBDA organised 281 blood donation camps in 2016-17 where 614 units of blood was collected. Ghosal further said that 109 training camps were held where 239 volunteers were trained.
Later, the chief guest felicitated the organisers of the 281 blood donation camps.
To make the foundation day event successful, Chairman Beli Bodhanwala, President Sunil Mukherjee, general secretary Pradeep Ghosal, treasurer Faninda Nath Mahato, SK Singh, Gouri Mukherjee, Krishna Majumdar, Ruma Das and others provided full support. SK Singh extended the vote of thanks.
