VBCV crowned overall champion of ‘Cosmos 2016’ at St. Mary’s

Jamshedpur, June 26: St. Mary’s English High School, Bistupur organised inter school science fest ‘Cosmos 2016’ at the school premises on Saturday.

The fest included four on-stage and four off-stage competition on different themes were students displayed their science talent and scientific abilities.

Chief guest of the event was Dr. NG Goswami, senior scientist, CSIR NML.

Invoking the youths, Goswami said, ‘We need to move forward with scientific thought and human values. Scince must be used for people of all class and specially the one who are derived of it’. Senior scientist added, ‘We must give science such a direction were no one dies due to hunger’.

Students displayed their scientific thought and social outlook during quiz, debate, drama based on science. Several models were also displayed by the partcipants.

Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya (VBCV) Telco was declared the overall champion. Chief guest awarded the winners. Father David Vincent, principal of St. Marys School said, science along with giving us scientific thoughts also isnpires us to be a better human being.

At the event Father Pradeep Marandi and Sister Mariam were also present.

Other city schools which partcipated in ‘Cosmos 2016’ were Jamshedpur Public School Baridih, Chinmaya Vidyalaya South Park, Kerala Samajam Model School Sakchi and hosts St. Mary’s English High School Bistupur
