Jamshedpur, Dec 26: The entire Vasundhara Estate complex on NH 33 resonated with chants of Radhey-Radhey as the week long Srimad Bhagwath Gyan Yagna organized by Kiran and Uma Shankar Sharma got underway today. The narrator is Swami Vrijnandan Shastri Maharaj from Vrindawan.

A colourful procession comprising mostly women devotees started after the recitation of Vedic mantras. The Kalash Yatra (procession with individuals carrying pots of sacred water) also included a flower bedecked chariot on which the beautifully decorated statues of Radha and Krishna were carried and floats depicting the various episodes of the Bhagwath captured the attention of people on the roads through which the procession passed. The hosts son and BJYM leader Krishna Sharma alias Kali Sharma informed that the Bhagwath Katha would continue upto January 1, 2020. He said that on concluding day consecrated food would be distributed among devotees and visitors. Swami Vrijnandan would present the discourse daily from 3 pm.

Swami Vrijnandan Shastri Maharaj observed that the floats that moved along with the procession were the different appearances the Lord adorned on different occasions for His devotees. The lifes wayfarers travels should include good deeds and good thoughts and these constitute the meaning of Shobha Yatra. Steadfast resolutions and good thoughts make a person stand tall among his fellow beings and bring him closer to God. Today, every person writes and speaks shubh laabh but we dont live by the term.

Shastriji further stated, Present day life and circumstances are governed by latest technology so much so that a distraught mankind is in th throes of confusion and unhappiness.  The only way out from this miserable quagmire is to listen to discourses on the Lord and singing His praise. All the pains and miseries are washed away and a feeling of peace and satisfaction prevails.

The participants in the Shobha Yatra included Uma Shankar Sharma, Kripa Shankar Sharma, Rama Shankar Sharma, Girija Shankar Sharma, Krishna Sharma alias Kali Sharma, Santosh Sharma, Vishwanath Sharma, Ramanand Sharma, Ravindra Kumar, Anil Kumar, Chandan Kumar and many more devotees among whom the women outnumbered their male counterparts.
