Jamshedpur, Dec. 26: The prelims of �Wheels 2020�, biggest techno-cultural fest for the dynamic youth of Jamshedpur, began today across various venues in Telco.

The much awaited and highly acclaimed event organised by G.E.T Club involves the whole hearted participation from schools all over the city of Jamshedpur.

12,000 participants from 200 schools have registered for various events during the prelims.

This year the theme for 33rd edition of Wheels is “Aarohan-Ascending Towards Goals.” It promises a scintillating line up of intellectual and fun events, informative workshops and many learning opportunities for all age groups. All round development of students is the aim behind conducting Wheels.

Excited participants in large number arrived at the venues much before the start of the events. Thousands of talented youths turned up on day 1 of the prelims.

Thursday prelims started with ‘Jazba’ at Telco Recreation Centre. The event saw participants explore themselves by putting on dancing shoes and mesmerize the crowd with their moves.

The next in line was �Spell Bee� held at Engineer�s Hall (TT Room). The event was not just for fun but also helped students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.
During the competition contestants were asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty.
�Swara- the solo singing competition� at the Badminton Court also attracted large number of participants who displayed their singing talent.
‘Cultural Show’ conducted at the parking lot depicted Unity in diversity and Indian culture. The group event offered platform for individuals to exhibit culture of Indian states in creative manner.
At �Yogathon� participants had to perform yoga and suryanamskar with different structure formation along with music.
‘Paper Coutoure’ event saw students create attire out of recycled newspaper. A paper costume designing event gave students a platform to show their skill in fashion designing.
‘Xquizit-4.0’ saw participants enhance information and have fun at the same time.
�Innovatory Technophilia� was held at Management Training Centre were participants indulged in paper presentation event where an individual or a team selected any topic of their choice, did some research, collected as much data regarding the same from different sources, compiled it together in a brief manner and finally presented it in front of the judges in their own innovative style.
�Flash� relay race saw boys and girls of class 5th to 8th and class 9th to 12th participate at Telco Ground.
Gaming events including Counter Strike, NFS, Wheel Premier League (Cricket), football and Chess were also held.
Total of seven venues were made for first day of the prelims.
The prelims will conclude on December 28. Like every year, Wheels will also hold a Marathon.
