Varun House wins NHES Sports Day Championship

Jamshedpur, Jan 28: Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES), Jamshedpur celebrated its Annual Sports Day 2025–26 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on January 20, 2026. The event provided students with an opportunity to display their athletic skills across various sports disciplines and encouraged healthy competition.

The programme was attended by Chief Guest Capt. Manish Sinha, Head – Sports, Tata Steel and former Indian Army officer, along with NHES President Nakul Kamani, members of the School Managing Committee, and Special Guest Kancho L. Nageshwar Rao, an international karate coach and referee.

The celebration began with flag hoisting, followed by an impressive march past by students representing the four houses—Agni, Surya, Vayu, and Varun. The sports meet was officially declared open by the Chief Guest, who motivated students to perform their best. The torch relay and oath-taking ceremony highlighted the values of discipline and sportsmanship.

Cultural performances added colour to the event, including a yoga display, pyramid formation, dance drill under the Go Girl Project, and a panorama drill spreading awareness about environmental conservation.

Students participated enthusiastically in track events such as 100 m, 200 m, 800 m races, and the 4×100 m relay.

In the overall results, Varun House emerged as the champions with 172 points, while Surya House secured the runner-up position with 153 points. Raghveer Mahato of Class 8B from Surya House and R. Manvi of Class 7C from Vayu House were declared Best Athletes.

Prizes were distributed by the dignitaries, encouraging students to continue excelling in sports.
